Ha! Great story. It's absurd for anyone to suggest a US Senator can't play a useful role for their home state. If nothing else as a voice to speak up for the state at the federal level, work with nearby states when Texas has needs and so on. If nothing else, it sure looks hatefully indifferent to head to Cancun when your constituents are literally freezing to death.
