Democrat-appointed US Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer doesn't want to step down and let President Biden replace him with another liberal justice, lest it anger the Republicans.
That's the thing. In view of what happened with RBG's seat, and what the GOP did with Garland's appointment, how could he even think of doing this? Also, it's expected for a justice to retire during the term of a president who will appoint a similarly-minded justice -- the notion that this risks partisanship, like it's something untoward, is just bizarre.
**sigh**
I think my head will explode. Did he learn nothing from RBG and her horrific replacement?
