Meet the companies funding Fox News' vaccine conspiracies, homophobia, and Insurrection

Facebook, Xfinity, Comcast, Vanguard, Ford, Honeywell, Tide and Arby's are among the corporations using your money to keep Fox News' hate and division on the air.

Meet the companies funding Fox News' vaccine conspiracies, homophobia, and Insurrection

I spent the last few days watching ads on Fox News’ national cable channel, in order to see which corporations were still funding Fox’s ongoing efforts to destroy our country through hate, vaccine conspiracies, and division of the kind that helped lead to the Insurrection. And the list of sponsors — its length and quality — blew me away.

After January 6th, Tucker Carlson’s rank bigotry, and the entire network’s repeated attempt to undermine vaccines, masks and social distancing, I assumed that most “good” advertisers would have fled Fox.

I was wrong.

I only had to watch a few shows to come up with a list of two dozen A-list advertisers who still subsidize Fox News’ extremism. And remember, this is only a handful of shows over the past two days. There are far more.

Now, the advertisers will likely tell you that they don’t advertise on Carlson’s show, or the Ingraham Angle, or Hannity. So no harm no foul, right? But Carlson, Ingraham and Hannity are paid with the money that Facebook, Xfinity, Comcast, Vanguard, and Ford funnel to Fox News on a daily basis. These companies are rewarding Fox management for refusing to lift a finger to rein in any of the hate and disinformation spread daily on its network.

And in the case of the Insurrection and Covid, that disinformation is literally killing people. So why are these companies financing such an un-American venture?

And why are we patronizing these companies, when our good money is being used to help keep Fox News on the air?

Enough is now. Just this past week alone, we had Tucker Carlson’s blatantly homophobic attack on Pete Buttigieg, mocking Pete as a new “gay” parent.

Then, a few days later, Carlson busy, yet again, undercutting the Covid vaccine, by claiming that Colin Powell’s death proved that “you’ve been lied to” by the government about the vaccine’s effectiveness. Undercutting national efforts to rein in Covid is a common Carlson theme.

What these companies are doing is crass, uncaring, and at its core, un-American. It’s time for these companies to pull the plug on Fox News.

I’ve listed them below, with links to their Twitter handles. Please tweet them your thoughts on them financing hatred, bigotry, Covid-denialism, and Insurrection. And, please contact the employee groups inside these companies — I suspect the civil rights groups, for starters, would be interested to know that their company is funding hate:

Facebook (what a surprise)
Xfinity
Xfinity Mobile
Consumer Cellular
Discovery+
Comcast

Vanguard
TD Ameritrade
PNC Bank

BMW
Ford
Chevrolet
Cadillac
Lexus
Buick
Vroom
CarGurus

Honeywell
Downy
Tide
Farmers Insurance
Liberty Mutual
Pacific Life
Best Western
Angi
Arby’s
CARFAX
Visionworks
Midas
Applebees
Sleep Number
Simplisafe
Indeed

And make sure to share this page via social media.

Thanks so much, JOHN

Am sharing. Thanks for posting. I got rid of the cable box so it's nice to no longer subsidize Murdoch.
