Records of text messages received by Trump's then- White House chief of staff prove that Trump knew how bad the attack on the Capitol was, and chose not to stop it.

You may have heard the news that during the January 6th Insurrection, Donald Trump Jr., and Fox News hosts Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham and Brian Kilmeade all texted then- Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, begging him to tell Trump to call off the violent attack on the US Capitol.

Trump ignored them.

A few take-aways:

  1. Don Jr., Ingraham and Hannity all thought that Trump was capable of pulling the puppet strings of the violent insurrectionists. Why did they think that?

  2. Don Jr. who repeatedly texted Meadows, clearly can’t even get a hold of his own father. Why not? It’s also interesting that Ingraham and Hannity, both of whom presumably have a direct line to Trump, also couldn’t get a hold of Trump, otherwise why would they be texting Meadows? Why not just call Trump directly — what phone call could be more important than this? — unless they tried, and Trump refused the calls.
