First, here’s DeSantis’ new claim. (Also, note how DeSantis squirms while refusing to answer the question of whether he got boosted.)
First, let’s deal with the lies, then let’s assess why DeSantis is undercutting efforts to tackle Covid in a state made up of seniors who are particularly at risk from the disease.
DeSantis claims that last September, the FDA only authorized boosters for people aged 65 and older (or those at increased risk from Covid). And he’s right. But what DeSantis isn’t telling you is that this was over four months ago. The FDA approved boosters for ages 18+ in November, and for 12+ just a few week ago in early January.
Thus, DeSantis is lying by telling you only part of the truth….
